Signs your pet may be in pain
Animals do not show pain the same way that humans do. They rarely cry or whine, and they will likely do their best to hide it, but here are some tell-tail signs that your furry friend might be experiencing pain.
Withdrawal or hiding
Unwillingness to climb stairs or jump onto furniture
Excessive panting
Unusual stance
This may take the form of a hunched back or prayer position (back end up, front end down)
Decreased appetitie
Lethargy
Limping, stiff gait
Redness, swelling
Squinting, raised third eyelid
Sensitivity to light
If you believe your pet might be in pain, schedule an appointment with your veterinarian.
